SIP Revision: Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance, December 4, 2002

Revision to the State Implementation Plan for vehicle inspection and maintenance adopted on December 4, 2002.

On December 4, 2002, the TCEQ adopted a revision to the Texas State Implementation Plan (SIP) to revise the Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Program for El Paso. This page provides information on this revision to the SIP.

About the Revision

Adoption Date: 12/04/2002
Proposal Date: 9/13/2002
EPA Approval Date: Pending

Key Changes: These amendments to 30 Texas Administrative Code Chapter 114 and corresponding revisions to the Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance (I/M) Plan portion of the Texas State Implementation Plan would revise the El Paso I/M program.

The revisions would convert on-board diagnostic (OBD) testing from a requirement beginning January 1, 2003 to a contingency measure of the El Paso ozone SIP in support of the maintenance of the national ambient air quality standards.
