This page provides a list of authorized dismantlers participating in the AirCheckTexas Drive a Clean Machine program and facts related to the requirements for dismantlers choosing to participate.

 

The TCEQ invites dismantlers to become a Drive a Clean Machine partner

As a participating AirCheckTexas Drive a Clean Machine dismantler you will receive retired vehicles from participating dealers at no charge, however you must also provide the scrapped vehicle to the steel recycling facility for free within 6 months. The advantage is that you may sell any salvageable parts from the vehicle other than the engine and emissions-control related equipment.

Dismantlers that wish to be added to the List of TCEQ-Authorized AirCheckTexas Drive a Clean Machine Participating DismantlersAdobe Acrobat PDF Document and begin participating in the AirCheckTexas Drive a Clean Machine (DACM) program must attend an introductory educational workshop hosted by the TCEQ in Austin on the following date and location:

Friday, March 4, 2016 at 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm.
Room 2210, Building F, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)
12100 Park 35 Circle, Austin, TX 78753
Free parking in the Visitor lot or on the top level of the Building F parking garage. For directions, see map.

Essential information on the dismantler’s responsibilities and the procedures for processing and destroying AirCheckTexas DACM vehicles will be provided at the workshop by TCEQ staff.

At least one responsible staff member from each facility wishing to be added to the list of participating dismantlers must attend this workshop in order for the facility to be authorized by the TCEQ to participate in the AirCheckTexas DACM program. No additional introductory dismantler workshops are scheduled for the remainder of the year.
