SIP Revision: Dallas-Fort Worth, April 19, 2000

Revision to the State Implementation Plan for Dallas-Fort Worth adopted on April 19, 2000.

On April 19, 2000, the TCEQ adopted a revision to the Texas State Implementation Plan (SIP). These revisions served as the required next step in the attainment demonstration planning process for the Beaumont–Port Arthur (BPA), Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW), and Houston-Galveston-Brazoria (HGB) ozone nonattainment areas. This page provides information on this revision to the SIP.

About the Revision

Adoption Date: 04/19/2000
Proposal Date: 12/16/1999
EPA Approval Date: TCMs approved 9/27/2005 (70 FR 56374Exit the TCEQ

Key Changes:

This revision to the SIP contains:

  • photochemical modeling of specific control strategies and future state and national rules for attainment of the one-hour ozone standard in the DFW area by the attainment deadline of November 15, 2007;
  • a modeling demonstration showing that the air quality in the DFW area is influenced at times by transport from the HGB area;
  • identification of the level of reductions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) emissions necessary to attain the one-hour ozone standard by 2007;
  • control strategies developed by the state involving controls on stationary sources;
  • control strategies selected by the North Central Texas Council of Governments’ North Texas Clean Air Steering Committee; and
  • a 2007 mobile-source budget for transportation conformity.
