Texas Emissions Reduction Plan (TERP)

The TERP program provides financial incentives to eligible individuals, businesses or local governments to reduce emissions from polluting vehicles and equipment.

New and upgraded equipment pollutes less, improving the air quality in Texas. Grant applications are accepted at different times throughout the year, depending on available funds.

We believe these to be taxable grants. Please consult with your tax advisor.

Rebate Grants Program: New Item

The Rebate Grants program is currently accepting applications.  The Rebate Grants program is limited to on-road and select non-road repower and replacement projects only.  This program is non-competitive and funding is issued on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible applicants.

Texas Natural Gas Vehicle Grant Program (TNGVGP)New Item

The TNGVGP is currently accepting applications for the replacement or repowering of existing diesel or gasoline vehicles with natural gas vehicles or engines. To apply for a grant under the TNGVGP, applicants must go through a Participating Dealer under contract with the TCEQ.

The Participating Dealer solicitation and Information Request for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) are both still active. Please visit the TNGVGP Web page to learn more.

TERP GRANT PROGRAMS:



Emissions Reduction Incentive Grants (ERIG)New Item


The ERIG program offers grants to upgrade or replace on-road vehicles, non-road equipment, locomotives, marine vessels, stationary equipment, refueling infrastructure, on-site electrification and idle reduction infrastructure, on-vehicle electrification and idle reduction infrastructure, and rail relocation and improvement projects.

The latest application period has ended. Applications may no longer be submitted for funding consideration.



Texas Clean Fleet Program (TCFP)


The TCFP offers grants to replace heavy-duty and light-duty on-road diesel vehicles with alternative fuel and hybrid vehicles.



Alternative Fueling Facilities Program (AFFP)


The AFFP provides grants for the construction, reconstruction, or acquisition of facilities to store, compress, or dispense alternative fuel.

Texas Natural Gas Vehicle Grant Program (TNGVGP)New Item


The TNGVGP provides grants for the replacement and repower of heavy-duty and medium-duty diesel vehicles and engines with CNG and LNG heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles and engines.



Clean Transportation Triangle (CTT) ProgramNew Item


The CTT offers grants for the creation of natural gas fueling stations along interstate highways between the Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas/Fort Worth areas.



Rebate Grants (including small business)

The Rebate Grants program is a simplified first-come, first-serve grant program to upgrade or replace diesel heavy-duty vehicles and/or non-road equipment.



New Technology Implementation Grants (NTIG) Program


These grants provide incentives to assist in the implementation of new technologies to reduce emissions of pollutants from facilities and other stationary sources.



New Technology Research and Development Grants


These grants provide financial incentives to encourage and support research, development, and commercialization of technologies that reduce pollution in Texas.



ARRA Rebate Grants Program


The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Rebate Grants Program is a simplified first-come, first-serve grant program to upgrade or replace heavy-duty vehicles and/or non-road equipment. On-road replacement vehicles may be powered by diesel, natural gas, or propane. Non-road projects may only replace a diesel engine with a diesel engine.

The latest application period has ended. Applications may no longer be submitted for funding consideration.
