Description: These rules are part of the State Implementation Plan and are intended to reduce statewide emissions of NOx. To comply with these rules, manufacturers, installers, distributors and dealers in Texas will need to ensure that water heaters, small boilers, and process heaters meet standards adopted in §117.3205
.
The following are exempt from these rules: units which use fuel other than natural gas, units used in recreational vehicles, and other units which are exempt as defined in §117.3203
.

The Technical and Economic Feasibility Study was specified by the 79th Texas Legislature (2005) and completed in December 2005 to determine the technical and economic feasibility of regulating residential water heaters in Texas.
