·The Critical Infrastructure Division and the Air Permits Division have minimal interaction. However, both divisions may play a role with regard to homeland security efforts and various compliance programs.

Tab Title: Enforcement

· The Enforcement Division develops enforcement cases for non-compliance with state environmental laws.

· Interaction with the Enforcement Division usually occurs when issues arise during the permit reviewer's compliance history review or when a compliance plan is added to a Title V permit.

Tab Title: Monitoring

Tab Content:

· This division provides the TCEQ with the foundation for making sound, scientifically-based decisions for the protection of public health and the environment by ensuring the collection, analysis, and display of quality environmental data.

· Most interaction is with the regional offices. The Air Permits Division relies on the regional offices in the four regional areas to...

» provide comments on site reviews and on draft permit conditions for pending permit applications,

» interpret and enforce permits,

» conduct investigations for compliance at permitted and registered air facilities located across the state,

» investigate complaints at permitted and non-permitted facilities,

» develop enforcement action referrals for violations identified during investigations,

» attend public meetings,

» testify in public hearings,

» conduct the audit of any sampling and testing submitted by permit holders to determine permit compliance, and

» review Title V compliance reports and deviations once a Title V permit is issued.

· The Air Permits Division also works with the Program Support Section regarding air permitting issues applicable across the regional areas.
