The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 6, the TCEQ and the State of Texas Alliance for Recycling (STAR) are hosting this binational workshop that will change how we manage scrap tires. With support from the Border Environment Cooperation Commission (BECC) and the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA), workshop participants will redefine scrap tire management across the U.S.-Mexico border, including managing tires as a resource, not a waste. Workshop participants will include a diverse range of interests and expertise from the scrap tire community, including elected officials, NGOs, the tire industry, processing and recycling companies, and government officials from local, state, and federal offices.
