Stakeholder Meeting about a Plan to Protect Recreational Safety in Petronila Creek

Stakeholders in the watershed are revising a plan to implement total maximum daily loads (TMDLs) and reduce bacteria levels in the river. At this meeting, stakeholders will review additional data analyses and a report on the results of a groundwater study by the Railroad Commission. Weather permitting (not too hot or too wet), there is an optional field trip after the meeting to view Petronila Creek at Willoughby Farms. If you plan to go on this field trip, be sure to dress appropriately; jeans and boots are highly recommended. There will be a demonstration of techniques for sampling instream water quality.

Stakeholder Meeting about a Plan to Protect Recreational Uses in the East and West Forks of the San Jacinto River

The goal of this project is to reduce bacteria in parts of the San Jacinto River, making it safer for recreation. All stakeholders are invited to get involved in developing the strategy to improve water quality. The meeting is open to everyone. At this public meeting, stakeholders will discuss how to proceed with outreach about the project to the public at large.

Public Hearing on Edwards Aquifer Protection Program

The TCEQ will conduct hearings to receive comments from the public on actions the commission should take to protect the Edwards Aquifer from pollution, as required under Texas Water Code, §26.046. This requirement assists the commission in its shared responsibility with local governments such as cities and groundwater conservation districts to protect the water quality of the aquifer.
