TCEQ approves fines totaling $608,712
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality today approved penalties totaling $356,333 against 28 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations.
Agreed orders were issued for the following enforcement categories: four air quality, one Edwards Aquifer, one industrial hazardous waste, one industrial waste discharge, one multi-media matter, four municipal waste discharge, three petroleum storage tank, and three public water system.
Also issued were default orders in the following categories: one industrial waste discharge, one licensed irrigator, two multi-media matter, three petroleum storage tank (of which one was a shut-down order), and three public water system.
In addition, on Jan. 16, 2014, the executive director approved 106 agreed orders, each $7,500 or less, totaling $252,379.
