The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality will host an informational meeting for the public on polychlorinated biphenyls in fish tissue impairments in segments of the Trinity River.

This meeting, on Thursday, August 11, 2011 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the North Central Texas Council of Governments, Centerpoint Regional Forum Room, 616 Six Flags Drive, Arlington, Texas, will give the public a chance to learn about ways to address PCB impairments as indicated in a fish consumption advisory issued by the Texas Department of State Health Services as part of the development of a Total Maximum Daily Load.

This TMDL is a flexible tool that the governmental and non-governmental agencies involved in implementation will use to guide their program management. The goal is to reduce PCBs in fish tissue so it is safe to eat fish caught in the affected segments of the river.

Please visit the project Web page for a map to the meeting site, all data results associated with this project and other information including the project overview, meeting information, previous meeting summaries, and project documents.
