The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality today approved penalties totaling $410,757 against 68 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations.
Agreed orders were issued for the following enforcement categories: Two agricultural, six air quality, two industrial or hazardous waste, two industrial waste discharge, one irrigation licensing, two multimedia, two municipal solid waste, one municipal waste discharge, 15 petroleum storage tank, nine public water system, two utilities, and two water quality.
There were three field citations.
In addition, default orders were issued for the following categories: One Edwards Aquifer, one industrial or hazardous waste, one industrial waste discharge, one irrigation licensing, two multimedia, one municipal waste discharge, five petroleum storage tank, one public water system, one sludge, and one water quality.
There were three petroleum storage tank default and shutdown orders.
Penalties were also assessed in one petroleum storage tank case, after a hearing at the State Office of Administrative Hearings.
