TCEQ Approves Fines Totaling $917,547

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality today approved penalties totaling $671,362 against 54 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations.  

Agreed orders were issued for the following enforcement categories: one agricultural, eight air quality, one industrial waste discharge, two multimedia, 17 waste discharge, 14 petroleum storage tank, and five public water system.

Default orders were issued for the following enforcement categories: one industrial or hazardous waste, one multimedia, two petroleum storage tank, and one water quality.

In addition, there was one petroleum storage tank default and shutdown order.

On Sept. 14, Sept. 27, and Oct. 5, the Executive Director approved 101 agreed orders, each $7,500 or less, totaling $246,185.
