TCEQ Approves Fines Totaling $582,049

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality today approved penalties totaling $459,035 against 30 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations. Agreed orders were issued for the following enforcement categories: five air quality, two multimedia, one municipal solid waste, six municipal waste discharge, eight petroleum storage tank, and four public water system.

Default orders were issued in the following categories: one multimedia, one municipal solid waste, one petroleum storage tank, and one public water system.

In addition, on October 14, the executive director approved 49 agreed orders, each $7,500 or less, totaling $123,014.

Commissioners also announced the appointment of Anne Idsal as agency general counsel. Idsal, who previously served as special counsel and executive assistant to Chairman Bryan Shaw, replaces Les Trobman, who was recently appointed Texas Water Development Board general counsel.
