TCEQ Approves Fines Totaling $671,781
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality today approved penalties totaling $295,236 against 27 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations.
Agreed orders were issued for the following enforcement categories: two air quality, six municipal waste discharge, six petroleum storage tank, and three public water system.
Default orders were issued for one industrial waste discharge, two municipal solid waste, two petroleum storage tank, and four public water system.
Penalties were also assessed for one municipal waste discharge case following a hearing at the State Office of Administrative Hearings.
In addition, on March 3, 12, 24, and April 1, the executive director approved 137 agreed orders, each $7,500 or less, totaling $376,545.
In other agenda news, commissioners today voted to approve a petition, filed by the Brazos River Coalition, and reviewed by the State Office of Administrative Hearings, to appoint a watermaster for the Lower Brazos River Basin.
