TCEQ Hosts International Toxicological Workshop
Toxicologists from the United States and Canada will be a part of the 8th annual Alliance for Risk Assessment seminar, taking place at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality headquarters, in Austin, May 21-22. This year marks the third time the agency has hosted the biannual workshops, since 2010.
The seminar’s agenda, entitled Beyond Science and Decisions: From Problem Formulation to Dose-Response, will focus on case studies illustrating human health risk assessment methods and enhancements, and how safe chemical levels are determined to prevent harmful health effects. The dose-response framework is a collaboration of more than 55 organizations representing government, industry, scientific societies, consultancies, and environmental groups.
“The workshop will bring together some of the brightest chemical risk assessors in North America, who are dedicated to protecting public health by addressing complex issues that have worldwide implications,” says TCEQ Toxicology Division Director, Dr. Michael Honeycutt.
The workshop is open to the public. Sessions will be held in the TCEQ Agenda Meeting Room (12100 Park 35 Circle, building E, room 201-S) and will be made available via webinar, using Lync. Webcast participants can submit presentation questions by e-mailing them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
