The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality today approved penalties totaling $268,893 against 28 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations.
Agreed orders were issued for the following enforcement categories: four air quality, one Edwards Aquifer, two industrial or hazardous waste, two industrial waste discharge, one multimedia, six municipal waste discharge, two petroleum storage tank, one public water system, and one water quality.
Default orders were issued for the following enforcement categories: one air quality, one municipal solid waste, three petroleum storage tank, and one water quality.
In addition, there were two petroleum storage tank enforcement default and shutdown orders.
On May 21, June 8, and June 11, the Executive Director approved 100 agreed orders, each $7,500 or less, totaling $253,031.
