TCEQ Approves Fines Totaling $522,627
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality today approved penalties totaling $352,453 against 30 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations.
Agreed orders were issued for the following enforcement categories: five air quality, one multimedia, one municipal waste discharge, six petroleum storage tank, nine public water system, one water quality, and one water right.
Default orders were issued in the following categories: one air quality, one petroleum storage tank, and one water quality.
There were two petroleum storage tank default and shutdown orders.
Penalties were also assessed in one petroleum storage tank case following a hearing at the State Office of Administrative Hearings.
In addition, on June 3 and 17, the executive director approved 53 agreed orders, each $7,500 or less, totaling $170,174.
