TCEQ approves fines totaling $489,218

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality today approved penalties totaling $364,655 against 20 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations.

Agreed orders were issued for the following enforcement categories: two air quality, two industrial hazardous waste,  two multi-media, one municipal solid waste, three municipal waste discharge, two petroleum storage tank, four public water system, and one water quality.

Three default orders were issued, one each in the licensed irrigator, municipal solid waste, and petroleum storage tank categories.

In addition, on Sept. 8 and Sept. 21, the executive director approved a total of 49 agreed orders, each $7,500 or less, totaling $124,563.
