The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality today approved penalties totaling $527,667 against 46 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations.
Agreed orders were issued for the following enforcement categories: one agriculture, five air quality, one industrial waste discharge, one licensed irrigator, two multi-media, one municipal solid waste, eight municipal waste discharge, five petroleum storage tank, six public water system, one sludge, and two water quality.
Default orders were issued for the following categories: one air quality, one municipal waste discharge, one on-site sewage, eight petroleum storage tank, four of which were default and shutdown orders, one public water system and one water operator certification.
In addition, on Oct. 10, Oct. 26, Nov. 8, and Nov. 9 the executive director approved 187 agreed orders, each $7,500 or less, totaling $404,290.
