May 27, 2011: Online Registration for New Barnett Shale Oil and Gas PBR Available in ePermits

Registration for the new oil and gas PBR is available in ePermits for Level 1 and 2. Even if your site is located outside of the Barnett Shale area you may voluntarily register under these requirements.

Access ePermits through STEERS (State of Texas Environmental Electronic Reporting System).  If you already have a STEERS account simply update your account to include Air New Source Review program area.

Step 1: Go to the STEERS login page and either select "Create Account" to set up a new account or select "My Account" to update your existing account. (If you already have access to Air New Source Review, skip to Step 3.)

Step 2: Complete the STEERS Participation Agreement (SPA) for Air New Source Review. Submit the SPA electronically, or print it out, sign it and mail it in. If you submit electronically, you will receive access to Air New Source Review instantly. Otherwise your access will be activated after the SPA is processed by the TCEQ.

You must have a SPA on file with the TCEQ to use STEERS.

Step 3: Once you have a SPA on file for Air New Source Review, log on to STEERS. Choose the Air New Source Review program to view a list of available applications.

Applications available in ePermits for Air:

  • OGS (Oil and Gas Site) Historical Notification
  • OGS New Project Notification for new and existing sites
  • OGS PBR Level 1 and 2 for new and existing registrations

For more information on the new Oil and Gas PBR see the Air PBR 106.352 Oil and Gas Handling and Production Facilities web page.
