    <description>This is an interior view of the main battery-recycling building. The conveyor belt at the top right was part of the machinery that moved used batteries through a mechanical processor. The machine cut the tops off the batteries, tipped the casings to drain the acid, and dumped the lead plates into a bin before shredding the casing into small pieces.</description>
