Carters Creek TMDL Data Project

A project to gather additional information about levels and potential sources of bacteria in Carters Creek to support better targeting and refinement of strategies to implement for the Carters Creek Total Maximum Daily Load.

Background

The TCEQ began developing a TMDL Implementation Plan for the Carters Creek watershed in 2007. The watershed stakeholders group identified a need for a more detailed understanding of the concentrations and sources of bacteria throughout the watershed.

Project Description

This project will support additional water quality monitoring to determine when and where bacteria levels are higher or lower in the creek. It will also involve surveying physical information about potential sources of pollution throughout the watershed.
