Geronimo Creek: Implementing a Watershed Protection Plan in Seguin

This project will implement elements of the Geronimo and Alligator Creeks Watershed Protection Plan at the Seguin Outdoor Learning Center, including demonstrations of best management practices and educational features and activities.

Background

The lower portion of Geronimo Creek has had high bacteria levels since 2006. The segment also had concerns for elevated nitrate-nitrogen in 2000 and 2010. In 2012, local stakeholders completed the Geronimo Creek and Alligator Creek WPP.

Project Description

This project is a collaboration between the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority and the Seguin Outdoor Learning Center. Demonstration BMPs constructed at the Seguin Outdoor Learning Center will serve as an outdoor classroom area where residents can learn about nonpoint source pollution.
