Texas Natural Gas Vehicle Grant Program: How Do I Apply for a Grant?

This page outlines the steps for applying for a grant under the Texas Natural Gas Vehicle Grant Program (TNGVGP).

The TCEQ is now accepting applications for funding consideration under the TNGVGP. Applications must be received and date-stamped at the front desk, Rm. 1301, 1st floor of Building F on the premises of the TCEQ by no later than 5:00 p.m., Central Time, May 31, 2019.

Interested entities should review the Request For Grant Applications (RFGA) and TNGVGP Example Contract.

Follow these steps:

STEP 1: Download and review copies of the RFGA and TNGVGP Example Contract.

  • Request For Grant Applications (RFGA) (PDF): The RFGA is the formal announcement of funding opportunities under the TNGVGP, and serves as a guide for determining applicant eligibility.
  • TNGVGP Example Contract (PDF): The TNGVGP Example Contract contains the terms and conditions which are the legal criteria that an applicant must follow if awarded a grant under the TNGVGP.

  

STEP 2: Download the application forms, instructions and W-9 form.

Application forms should be completed electronically, printed, and signed where indicated.

Supplemental Form 1 - Hurricane Harvey Exception

Complete this form if the vehicle/equipment being replaced was damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Harvey.

Supplemental Form 2 - Agricultural Product Transport

Complete this form if the old equipment is used primarily for the transport of raw agricultural materials.

Supplemental Form 3 - Special Ownership Preapproval

Complete this form to request preapproval to purchase a vehicle the applicant does not own at the time of application.

If using Excel, each section of the application form is on an individual Excel worksheet within the workbook. Use the tabs located at the bottom of the worksheet to access each form.

In order to print all the pages located in the workbook, please follow these directions:
(1) Click on “File” (2) Click on “Print” (3) Under the “Print What” section, select “Entire Workbook”

STEP 3: Complete and submit two copies of the application form along with two sets of all required supporting documentation.

Applications must be completed electronically and submitted via regular or express mail, hand delivery, or through the TERPonline Portal
