Idea:

Hundreds (potentially thousands) of registered UST facilities indicate active tanks, yet they have actually been removed. In many cases, removal documentation exists in closure reports/release determination reports in Remediation files in the CFR. If resources could be used to identify these facilities and use the documentation to update the registration database to indicate the tanks have been permanently removed. This would increase database accuracy & decrease the number of investigations required to be performed. Comparing facilities with tanks listed as in use without a current delivery certificate (or which have never filed for a delivery certificate) to a list of facilities which have closure reports would identify a large number of these sites. If 900 facilities are identified and tanks permanently removed in the database, it would result in 300 less investigations per year. Reg & Rptg Staff working with Remediation & OCE Staff would help make this a quick & efficient process.

Idea:

Make the 1095-B Health Coverage online accessible. Online IRS Income Tax submittals do not ask for a copy. This will save on printing paper and postage.

Idea:

One you will see many times is: teleworking. Continue working from home has lots of savings for the agency and employee. Think about travel, electricity, improvements to the air. Any rental of equipment or buildings may be done away with.

Idea:

Occupational Licensing currently sends all communications with license applicants such as deficiency letters, testing approvals, etc. by paper through USPS. This practice could be changed to emailing these types of letters to the applicants. This would save costs on paper, copier supplies and maintenance and the cost of postage. It would also allow for quicker notification to applicants of their status and quicker replies from those applicants.

Idea:

Do without paper. Let's continue saving the environment by continuing to produce electronic communications through agency software and continue using email over agency phones and even personal phones.
