Free Webinars: Technical Assistance for Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTWs)

August 2020 – The EPA is conducting free webinars on August 18, September 15, and October 20, 2020, from noon to 1:30 p.m.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is offering small wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) a series of technical assistance webinars on best practices for optimizing performance. These webinars can help you understand the root causes of common problems WWTP operators face and will provide suggestions and resources to help you fine-tune operations and fix noncompliance problems.

Webinar Topics and Dates

August 18 Best Management Practices for POTW Compliance - Critical Elements of Successful Wastewater Treatment- Part 1 will cover:

  • Sampling and monitoring- compliance versus process control.
  • Implementing a process control plan and making operational adjustments.
  • Managing effective and educated operators.

September 15 Best Management Practices for POTW Compliance - Critical Elements of Successful Wastewater Treatment- Part 2 will cover:

  • Creating and implementing effective standard operating procedures.
  • Managing your WWTP to promote compliance.
  • Finding technical assistance programs and resources.

October 20 Strategies for Small POTWs Handling High Strength Influent will cover pretreatment and nondomestic sewage.
