Free Webinars: Wastewater Treatment Microbiology and Sampling

Nov. 2020 – The EPA is conducting free webinars for wastewater treatment plant owners and operators on November 17, December 8, and January 27, from noon to 1:30 p.m. CST.

At this time, these webinars have not been approved by the TCEQ for licensing credit.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is offering small wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) a series of technical assistance webinars on best practices for optimizing performance. These webinars can help you understand the root causes of common problems WWTP operators face and will provide suggestions and resources to help you fine-tune operations and fix noncompliance problems.

Webinar Topics and Dates

November 17: The Microbiology of Wastewater Treatment - Life in the Aeration Tank: Bacteria, Protozoa, and Metazoa. This webinar will introduce you to the microorganisms that thrive in activated sludge.

December 8: Flow Measurement. This webinar will cover flow measurement techniques at a wastewater treatment plant.

January 27: Dos and Don’ts of Sampling. This webinar will discuss sampling techniques at a wastewater treatment plant.
