Free Workshops on Developing a Nitrification Action Plan (NAP)

Nov. 2019 - TCEQ is offering FREE workshops for public water systems that use chloramines for disinfection. The goal of this training is to educate PWS operators on the process of chloramination and the collection of data for specific analytes, as well as how to create a compliant NAP.

Topics covered during the workshop include the basics of chloramination, appropriate chemical injection and sample points for chlorine and ammonia, understanding nitrification in a water distribution system, using data interpretation for nitrification determination, and understanding the NAP Chloramine-Effectiveness Sample Suite (i.e. NAP matrix).

Licensed water operators can receive up to four (4) hours of Continuing Education Units for attending.
