On behalf of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the Texas Attorney General today filed a Petition and Application for Injunctive Relief in the District Court of Travis County against ExxonMobil for violations of the Texas Clean Air Act and the Texas Water Code at its Baytown Olefins Plant.

“Companies that threaten the well-being of Texans will be held accountable,” says TCEQ Executive Director Toby Baker. “Every business has a responsibility to respect Texas laws that protect the environment and public health.”

The State of Texas requested that the court grant relief as allowed by law, including a permanent injunction and appropriate civil penalties as well as reasonable attorney fees, court costs, and investigative costs.
