On behalf of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the Texas Attorney General today filed a petition and Application for Injunctive Relief in the District Court of Travis County against KMCO, LLC in Crosby for violations of the Texas Clean Air Act.

“I offer my condolences to the families who have suffered injury or loss and to the community impacted by the KMCO fire earlier today,” says TCEQ Executive Director Toby Baker. “I applaud the attorney general for acting swiftly on my requests to hold KMCO fully responsible.”

The State of Texas request is that the court grant the following relief as allowed by law: a permanent injunction, civil penalties and reasonable attorney fees, court costs, and investigative costs.
