Take Care of Texas, a program of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, has tapped rising country music star Cody Johnson to perform on public service announcements that begin airing on Texas TV stations today.

A native Texan, Johnson grew up in the tiny community of Sebastopol, and is best known for the song, “With You I Am.”

An accomplished songwriter with six albums under his belt, Johnson donated his time to write and perform the new tune for the PSAs, and says working with the TCEQ on the Take Care of Texas program is a great opportunity.

“It was such an honor to be a part of something so special,” says Johnson. “It's up to us to preserve the quality of air and water in Texas for future generations.”

Take Care of Texas is a statewide campaign from the TCEQ that provides helpful information on Texas’ successes in environmental protection and encourages all Texans to help keep our air and water clean, conserve water and energy, and reduce waste.

The spot can be downloaded here and will air on TV stations statewide throughout the summer.
