The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality holds its first-ever Autumn Environmental Conference and Expo Oct. 9 through Oct. 11 at Palmer Events Center in Austin.

"I am excited to be part of this conference and expo,” newly-appointed TCEQ Commissioner Emily Lindley says. “It’s important that we take time to educate our stakeholders and the regulated community on how the permitting process at TCEQ works."

This new event combines two former events, the Advanced Air Permitting and Water Quality/Stormwater seminars. The conference also includes a one-day Waste Classification Workshop, which has already sold out. Air permitting sessions will take place Oct. 9 and 10, while Wastewater/Stormwater permitting sessions are on Oct. 10 and 11.

Lindley will also be speaking at the conference and will share her goals for the agency and highlight any anticipated water-related bills to be filed during the upcoming 86th legislative session.

Recently-named executive director Toby Baker is also scheduled to speak.

"As public servants, we want to be as helpful and transparent as possible," says Baker. "This new conference furthers this goal since the regulated community can interact and get their questions answered by TCEQ experts."
