It’s official, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is a great place to work. Those of us who work here already know. But now, the TCEQ is recognized as one of the
top mid-sized employers Exit the TCEQ in the nation by Forbes Magazine Exit the TCEQ.

Governor Greg Abbott issued a proclamation Adobe Acrobat PDF Document congratulating the agency on this honor.

Each year, Forbes hires a market research company to conduct an anonymous survey of 30,000 Americans in companies with more than 1,000 employees. Respondents rank their likelihood of recommending their employer to others on a scale from zero-to-ten. They also nominate organizations outside their own.

“I am so proud of our staff and welcome this much-deserved recognition,” says TCEQ Chairman Bryan W. Shaw, Ph.D., P.E. “Our people are our strength and do the heavy lifting every day to serve the people of Texas and protect our environment.”

TCEQ Commissioner Toby Baker continues, “I’ve considered the TCEQ my second family for a reason. I could not be prouder of the team and their dedication to each other and our mission. We are an agency driven by passion, and I love that. This honor proves what I have always known about the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

“TCEQ is a great place to work because we have exceptional people who are engaged in a shared mission to protect public health and the environment for the benefit of our fellow Texans.  Combining meaningful work, a shared purpose in serving our communities, and great colleagues is a recipe for a rewarding career,” explains TCEQ Commissioner Jon Niermann.

The agency employs more than 2,600 workers statewide in a wide range of disciplines. To find out more, there are always a few job openings for those with the right skills needed to join this winning team.
