The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality will be closed on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in observance of the passing of George H.W. Bush.

As a result, the following Texas Emissions Reduction Plan application workshops and webinars have been canceled: 

Seaport and Rail Yard Areas Emissions Reduction Program Application Workshop: Wednesday, December 5, 2018, El Paso, Rio Grande Council of Governments. 

TERP Talk: Applying for a Grant Under the Texas Natural Gas Vehicle Grants Program: Wednesday, December 5, 2018, Webinar. 

Texas Clean Fleet Program application Workshop: Thursday, December 6, 2018, El Paso, Rio Grande Council of Governments.

The TERP program is offering informational workshops in Arlington, El Paso and Houston for individuals and entities interested in grants to replace or repower drayage trucks and cargo handling equipment operating at seaports and rail yards in Texas’ nonattainment areas. TERP staff will provide participants with an overview of the SPRY goals, eligibility requirements, and application process.

Arlington – Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, 2:00 pm, at North Central Texas Council of Governments, 616 Six Flags Dr., Arlington, TX 76011

Grantees selected can receive up to 80% of the cost to replace or repower vehicles or equipment.

Individuals and companies who have operated a drayage truck or cargo handling equipment at one or more of the designated seaports or rail yards for a minimum of 200 days per year for the preceding two years are eligible to apply.

Types of equipment that can be replaced or repowered:

  • vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating over 26,000 pounds
  • yard trucks
  • heavy-duty cargo handling equipment (container handlers, fork lifts, loaders, gantry cranes, and more)
