The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is now accepting applications for the Emissions Reduction Incentive Grants (ERIG) Program and the New Technology Implementation Grant (NTIG) Program.
The ERIG Program will be providing an estimated $45 million in funding to help replace or repower older locomotives, marine vessels, stationary equipment, and select non-road equipment in nonattainment areas and affected counties in Texas. ERIG projects are awarded with priority given to those with the lowest cost per ton of Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emissions reduction.
ERIG grants are available for a variety of equipment including line-haul and switcher locomotives, commercial fishing boats, tugboats, stationary engines or turbines over 25 hp, off-highway trucks, and more.
Detailed eligibility requirements and guidance for how to apply for an ERIG grant can be found on the ERIG webpage. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on April 4, 2023.
The NTIG Program will be providing an estimated $10 million in funding to assist in the implementation of new technologies that reduce emissions of regulated pollutants from facilities and other stationary sources in Texas.
NTIG grants may be awarded for equipment such as stationary compressor engines and systems that reduce flaring at oil and gas sites, electricity-storage projects produced from wind, solar, or hydrogen, and more.
Detailed eligibility requirements and guidance for how to apply for a NTIG grant can be found on the NTIG webpage. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on April 4, 2023.
