Good news in air quality trends

Aug. 16, 2017 - Professionals report significant progress

Tremendous progress has been made in air quality in the United States by almost every measure. State and local air agencies work cooperatively and, as a recent report from the Association of Air Pollution Control Agencies shows, the hard work is paying off.

The report Adobe Acrobat PDF Document compiles publicly available data from agencies like the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and includes key metrics from concentrations of criteria pollutants like ground-level ozone and particulate matter and air releases of toxic chemicals to compliance/enforcement activity and operating permit renewals.

The AAPCA’s work provides even more evidence supporting the trends the TCEQ has documented in Texas showing air quality improvement. The agency will continue to work with our partners to maintain and improve air quality for Texas and beyond.
