Robert Mione

Robert (Bob) Mione is the volunteer meadow manager for the Connemara Meadow Nature Preserve, a 72-acre natural space in Allen and Plano, Texas. He has spent over 10 years working to restore the once dairy farm back to the natural Blackland Prairie.

In his efforts to restore the meadow, Bob coordinates with Texas Master Naturalists, Texas Master Gardeners, Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops, and the general public to provide volunteers for the restoration project. These volunteers can also work on their own projects under Bob's supervision.

The meadow is also used for a variety of educational and recreational purposes including school and scout projects, yoga and art classes, and family nature walks and activities.

Through Bob’s leadership and environmental stewardship, over 75% of the western meadow has been restored to native grasses and wildflowers.
