Nolan Creek Assessment of Water Quality and Watershed Based Planning

A summary of completed projects to characterize water quality in Nolan Creek and Little Nolan Creek and to develop a watershed protection plan (WPP) for restoring the recreational use of the creeks.

Background

Portions of Nolan Creek and Little Nolan Creek have elevated bacteria concentrations, which prevents them from meeting water quality standards and impairs their use for swimming and other recreation. The state also identified concerns about elevated nitrate, total phosphorus, and orthophosphorus concentrations in the creeks.
