Renewal of the Small (Phase II) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) General Permit, TXR040000
The TCEQ is in the process of renewing the 2013 TPDES general permit for small MS4s, TXR040000, which expires on December 13, 2018. For information regarding this stakeholder meeting please see the Meetings topic below, date March 21, 2017.
Submit comments (due April 4, 2017) on the existing Phase II MS4 General Permit during the preliminary renewal process by email to: Stormwater and Pretreatment Team at SWGP@tceq.texas.gov with a subject line of Phase II MS4 2018 Renewal.
NOTE: The public will have an additional opportunity to submit comments during the formal public comment period that will be scheduled in the future tentatively scheduled for April 2018.
The TCEQ is in the process of renewing the 2013 Construction General Permit (CGP) (TXR150000), which will expire on March 5, 2018. The TCEQ held a stakeholder meeting on October 17, 2016, to discuss the renewal of the CGP, outline proposed changes, and to respond to questions from the public on the existing permit. The SWSG is open to the public. Anyone who is interested in stormwater permitting may attend and participate in SWSG meetings. This group currently has representation from water associations, petroleum and chemical industry, agricultural industry, engineering firms, law firms, environmental organizations, consumer groups, and governmental entities.
The most recent Stormwater Stakeholder Group meeting was held on March 21, 2017. The TCEQ hosts statewide stakeholder meetings to exchange information and ideas on the focus of the program and to receive feedback about recent activities. The meetings are held as needed to address significant issues facing the program. The Water Quality Division will post notices in advance of future meetings. The time, place, and agenda will be posted on this site as needed.
