Stormwater Stakeholders Group (SWSG)

A group that advises the TCEQ about issues related to stormwater permits and requirements.

This volunteer group meets when necessary to give advice and direction about issues related to stormwater permits and requirements.

The TCEQ is in the process of renewing the TPDES Stormwater Multi-Sector General Permit, TXR050000, which expires on August 14, 2016. The proposed general permitAdobe Acrobat PDF Document and fact sheet Adobe Acrobat PDF Document are now available for review during the 30-day public comment period. On October 16, 2015, the TCEQ published the public notice in the Texas Register and several newspapers around the state. The public comment period ends at 5:00 p.m. on November 16, 2015.

You may submit public comments about this general permit in writing or orally at the public meeting held by the TCEQ. The purpose of a public meeting is to provide the opportunity to submit comments or to ask questions about the proposed general permit. A public meeting is not a contested case hearing.

Participation in the SWSG

The SWSG is open to the public. Anyone who is interested in storm water permitting may attend and participate in SWSG meetings.

This group currently has representation from water associations, petroleum and chemical industry, agricultural industry, engineering firms, law firms, environmental organizations, consumer groups, and governmental entities.

Meetings

hot_tiny.gifA stakeholder meeting was held in the TCEQ Agenda Room on January 8, 2015 from 1:30 – 3:00 pm to discuss the renewal of the Stormwater Multi-Sector General Permit (TXR050000). During the meeting, TCEQ responded to questions and comments from the public on the existing permit and renewal process.
