About This Lookup Tool

Estimate Your Maximum Grant Amount

Use this lookup tool to determine your maximum eligible grant amount. This tool provides estimates based solely on the information you submit. TCEQ retains sole discretion in determining the maximum grant amount. See the Request for Grant Applications (RFGA) for more specific information.

For replacement or repower projects, applicants will receive the lesser of the grant amount shown in this grant lookup tool, or 80% of the incremental cost. See the RFGA, Section 3.3 for more detailed information.

Eligibility

If you have a replacement scenario that this lookup tool does not address, please email TERP@tceq.texas.gov.

To be eligible, the replacement equipment or engine must be certified or verified to emit at least 25% less nitrogen oxides (NOX) than the old equipment or engine.

Data You’ll Need

Vehicle/Equipment type

Not sure what your vehicle or equipment is called? Try using our Equipment and Vehicle Glossary.

  • For on-road vehicles: If there are no vehicle types that accurately describe your vehicle, use Vehicle Weight Classifications to select the appropriate vehicle class for your vehicle based on the Gross Weight (GWT) shown on your vehicle's current registration document.

Usage in area

If you receive a grant, this will be the percent of time that the grant-funded vehicle or equipment (i.e., the “new” vehicle or equipment) must operate in an eligible county on an annual basis. You must commit to at least 55%.

See the RFGA, Section 2.11 for instructions on how to calculate percent of usage in area. See the Map of Eligible Counties for a list of all eligible areas and their counties.

HP Range (non-road only)

If you want to replace or repower non-road equipment (i.e., the “old” equipment), you will need the horsepower of your old equipment.

Year Range

You will need the engine model year for your old vehicle or equipment.

Ignition Type

Identify the ignition type of your new vehicle or equipment.

  • Compression: diesel
  • Spark: compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas
  • Zero: electricity, hydrogen fuel cell
