Spill at Shamrock Victoria Port Terminal
TCEQ identified the source of area-wide odor late yesterday, which was a spill of petroleum-based material from a tank at the Shamrock Victoria Port Terminal.
TCEQ continues to oversee the remediation and cleanup of the petroleum-based material from a tank at the Shamrock Victoria Port Terminal. The facility is implementing odor control measures on site as materials are removed. TCEQ will continue overseeing cleanup activities at the site until remediation is complete. TCEQ air monitoring efforts did not detect any constituents above levels of concern.
While impacts to the adjacent waterway have not been identified, as a precaution, contractors maintain containment booms around potential runoff points.
TCEQ’s investigation into this incident is ongoing.
