Free Workshops on Developing a Nitrification Action Plan (NAP)
The TCEQ is offering FREE workshops for public water systems that use chloramines for disinfection. The goal of the training is to educate PWS operators on the process of chloramination and the collection of data for specific analytes, as well as how to compile a compliant NAP.
Topics covered during the workshop include basics of chloramination, appropriate chemical injection and sample points for chlorine and ammonia, understanding nitrification in a water distribution system, using data interpretation for nitrification determination, and understanding the NAP Chloramine-Effectiveness Sample Suite (i.e. NAP matrix).
Licensed water operators can receive up to four (4) hours of Continuing Education Units for attending.
