Emergency Preparedness Plan: Online Workshops

TCEQ hosted FREE online workshops on the requirements of Senate Bill 3 (87th Legislature 2021) and emergency preparedness plans (EPPs) for water system owners, operators, and managers; utility board members, and elected officials.

SB3 requires water systems that meet its definition of an affected utility to develop and implement an EPP. Utilities in Harris and Fort Bend Counties are not affected by the requirements under SB3.

These 4-hour online workshops addressed:

  • the definition of an affected utility.
  • an overview of the bill’s requirements.
  • EPP alternate power options.
  • how to develop and submit an EPP.
  • how to complete and submit the financial waiver (RG-553).
