How to Apply
Apply Online
View the current job opportunities and click on the job title you are interested in. To apply, click on the "Apply" link found on the individual job posting page.

First Time Applicants
If this is the first time you are applying using the online job application, create an account and select a username and password. Please note that applicants must have their own email address to apply.
Create an Application
After your account has been established, you can build a profile in CAPPS Recruit. This will allow you to create an employment application to apply for TCEQ jobs. See how.
Application Requirements
Only online applications are only accepted and only for current available positions.
Transcripts
If you apply for positions for which the minimum qualifications require specific coursework, upload a clear photocopy of your official college transcript(s) with your employment application. If we are unable to verify the required coursework and number of hours, we cannot give you credit for them. See instructions on how to attach documents.
Foreign Credentials
Upload an evaluation of your coursework if you have obtained a degree(s) from a school outside of the United States; otherwise we cannot give you credit for your degree.

After Your Application is Submitted
After you have submitted an application, you will receive a confirmation email from CAPPS acknowledging your application submission.
Check Application Status
You can view the status of your application when you are logged into CAPPS. Due to our high volume of phone calls, we highly recommend you monitor your application status online.
Military Employment Preference
TCEQ promotes the hiring of veterans, and applies a military employment preference to eligible veterans, spouses of veterans and active-duty military members, and orphaned children. TCEQ also applies an employment preference to former foster children in certain circumstances.
