The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ or commission) annually publishes an updated state registry identifying, to the extent feasible, each facility that may constitute an imminent and substantial endangerment to public health and safety or the environment due to a release or threatened release of hazardous substances into the environment.
The first registry identifying these sites was published in the Texas Register January 16, 1987 issue (12 TexReg 205). Annual registry updates include the addition of new facilities that have been proposed for listing or listed, and the removal of facilities that have been deleted from the registry.
Updates to the registry are made under the Texas Solid Waste Disposal Act, Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 361.
