Texas Cleanup Program

The TCEQ oversees the investigation and cleanup of hazardous and nonhazardous pollutants released into the environment. Cleanup is conducted using a risk-based approach outlined in the Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP) rule (30 TAC Chapter 350). Major components of the rule include the requirements for assessment, exposure pathways evaluation, development of protective concentration levels (PCLs), property owner and public notice, remedy selection standards, and institutional controls. Uses of ESLs and AMCVs Document

This document summarizes the differences in the way ESLs, inhalation reference values (ReVs), and unit risk factors (URFs) are used in air permitting and air monitoring, as well as introduces “air monitoring comparison values” or AMCVs as a new term.
