Surface Coating Facilities: Emissions Calculation Spreadsheet

A tool to assist surface coating operations with calculating emissions from their facilities.

Surface coaters prepare and coat (paint) items and these activities emit air contaminants. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requires you to get proper air authorization for these emissions before you build, modify, or begin operations at your facility.

This spreadsheet is a companion to TCEQ’s guidance titled Surface Coating Facilities: A Guide for Obtaining Air Authorization in Texas (RG-404) and has been designed to help you determine if your facility can meet the requirements of the permit by rule found in 30 Texas Administrative Code Chapter 106, Subchapter S, Section 106.433.

MACRO WARNING: When you initially open the spreadsheet, you may see a warning that says "Macros have been disabled." If you see this message, click the "Options" button, select "Enable this content," and then click "OK."

The spreadsheet includes a tab with instructions, but please call TCEQ's Small Business and Local Government Assistance (SBLGA) section at (800) 447-2827 if you need help using this tool.
