Industrial Sectors Under the Industrial Multi-Sector General Permit

Stormwater discharge associated with industrial activity is defined as stormwater runoff that exits any system that is used for collecting and conveying stormwater that originates from manufacturing, processing, material-storage, and waste-material-disposal areas (and similar areas where stormwater can contact industrial pollutants related to the industrial activity) at an industrial facility that falls under one or more of the following sectors of industry:

9. Oil and Gas Extraction
10. Mineral Mining and Processing
11. Hazardous Waste Treatment Storage,and Disposal
12. Landfills and Land Application
13. Automobile Salvage Yards
14. Scrap and Waste Recycling
15. Steam Electric-Generating Facilities
16. Land Transportation and Warehousing
17. Water Transportation
18. Ship and Boat Building or Repairing Yards
19. Air Transportation
20. Treatment Works
21. Food and Kindred Products
22. Textile Mills, Apparel, and Other Fabric Product Manufacturing; Leather and Leather Products
