TCEQ Records Services: Request Records from Our Central File Room

Our Central File Room provides storage, maintenance, and access to key agency records, plus file retrievals for the public and agency staff, and arranges for copy service. We have a viewing area, microfilm and microfiche reader/printers, photocopiers, scanners with e-mail capabilities and a full-service customer request counter.

NOTICE: AS PART OF THE UNPRECEDENTED RESPONSE TO CORONAVIRUS IN TEXAS, AND IN LIGHT OF THE GOVERNOR’S RECENT DISASTER DECLARATION, TCEQ WILL BE OPERATING REMOTELY AND WITH MINIMAL STAFF IN OUR OFFICES, WHICH IMPACTS OUR STAFF’S ABILITY TO ACCESS RECORDS.

DURING THIS TIME, THE CENTRAL FILE ROOM CUSTOMER VIEWING AREA WILL BE CLOSED. REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION CAN BE SUBMITTED THROUGH E-MAIL, CFRREQ@TCEQ.TEXAS.GOV OR THROUGH THE CENTRAL FILE ROOM ONLINE.

FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THE TCEQ’s CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE AND POLICIES SEE:https://www.tceq.texas.gov/response/covid-19

PLEASE CONTINUE TO CHECK OUR WEBSITE FOR UPDATES AS THE SITUATION DEVELOPS.

Contact the Central File Room Online or via email when you require access to public records for:

Please Note: If you wish to submit an Open Records Request (under the Texas Public Information Act) or if your request is for any and all documents, current applications, ongoing compliance or enforcement actions or records that are NOT available in the Central File Room, see Open Records Requests.

Once an Open Records Request is placed, do not request a second records request through the Central File Room. This may cause confusion and subsequently a delay in receiving your records.

Hours of operation: In response to the Coronavirus the Central File Room Viewing Area is currently closed. For information about the Records Services facilities, please e-mail CFRREQ@TCEQ.TEXAS.GOV.

Our Central File Room maintains only a certain percentage of the agency's records and all other records are kept in our various program offices.
